Eduard Tufte war von 1971 bis zu seiner Pensionierung Professor für Statistik, Grafikdesign und politische Wissenschaft in Yale. Er beschäftigt sich vor allem mit der graphischen Darstellung von Information.
Er ist Autor zahlreicher Bücher und hat sich dabei unter anderem mit den Gefahren von Powerpoint als Tool der Informationsdarstellung auseinandergesetzt.
